Farmers’ Mutual Supports Local Charities With a Donation of $32,752.26.
The 9th Annual Farmers’ Mutual Charity Golf Tournament, held on July 20, 2011 at the Lindsay Golf and Country Club, was a great success and their best tournament yet.
The 2011 Farmers’ Mutual Golf Committee worked hard pulling the annual event together and at the end the day the golf proceeds totaled $32,752.26!
This amount was split between the 2011 charity recipients, as follows:
Boys and Girls Club – Kawartha Lakes
and
Big Brothers Big Sisters – Kawartha/Haliburton
Scott Robinson from the Boys and Girls Club and Jim DeFlorio and Arlene Oakes from Big Brothers Big Sisters , were thrilled when Tim Shauf, President and CEO at Farmers’ Mutual presented each charity with a cheque in the amount of $16,376.13.
Over the last 9 years, the Farmers’ Mutual’s Charity Golf Tournament has raised $255,711.92, all of which has been donated in support of local charities within the City of Kawartha Lakes.
Farmers’ Mutual Supports the Learning Disability Association of Peterborough through CARE with a donation of $2,000.00.
“We are all very pleased that the CARE Committee has decided to invest in the children and youth of City of Kawartha Lakes. An emphatic thank-you to you and the CARE Committee for choosing LDAP to be part of your team.
Together we will make a difference in a number of young student’s lives!”
Shari G. Davis, the Executive Director of The Learning Disabilities Association of Peterborough, acknowledges the support provided from the CARE Committee.
Farmers’ Mutual proudly supports the Kawartha Lakes Food Source, with their contribution of $5,000 which will directly support the Fresh Fruit Program in our local schools.
An additional contribution of $2,000 was provided which will assist with the purchase of food when food shortages reach critical levels.
